Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen is a classically trained fine artist with experience in both the public and private client design world. Although best known for his stints as a presenter on shows such as 'Changing Rooms' and 'The Holiday Programme' in the 90's, LLB has been married to maximalism since he was a child.
His love of pattern and design accumulated during a Fine Art degree at Camberwell School of Arts (now a constituent college of the University of Arts London). This degree left LLB with a steady hand but a bigger ego... He took his new-found knowledge with him to a variety of design companies and TV shows before establishing Llewelyn-Bowen Design in 1998. Since then, pattern has remained the key component to every product, project and performance in LLB's portfolio.
Laurence met the incandescence that is his wife Jackie on a blind date in 1985. After 4 years, they married in a fairytale-style ceremony at Jackie's family home in Beneden amongst 150 guests. Mrs LLB organised the entire day while Mr LLB, chief designer, was in charge of the table centrepieces, the cake and most importantly designing the wedding dress (a tradition which he carried through for both his daughters when the time came).
After 6 years of married life, first born Cecile arrived in 1995. The family then grew in 1998 when Hermione was born and this completed clan LLB. They lived in London until 2007 when they moved to Gloucestershire to begin a life of tweed and twitters... Still there currently, although now doubled in numbers, the LLB tribe has made its mark on a 17th Century Manor House and continues to update and upgrade the beautifully historic home to welcome the ever growing third generation of LLBs.
